Reposition the top plate - it can take a little bit of fiddling to get all the screens aligned with the holes in the top plate, but take your time and you'll get it. Again, make sure the short screen is in the correct position. I found it easiest to remove all the screens, wash off the top and bottom plates, and then re-assemble. Also note how the screens fit in between the spacers/holders in the bottom plate. It isn't that complicated if you look at where it fits in relation to the gap on the bottom plate. Pay close attention to where the short filter fits. Carefully pop the top plate off the individual filters - in my case, a couple were stubborn, but with some gentle persuasion, they came loose. Using a wrench or pliers to hold the bolt at the bottom, loosen the threaded rod that runs through the filter assembly. This was done while the pool was closed so the prerequisite steps of relieving pressure, draining and opening the filter were already done, and the filter assembly was already removed. Length is measured from one end of the grid to the other (collar not included). ![]() This is a pack which includes 7 full grids & 1 partial grid. *Most DE filters require 7 full Grids and 1 Partial grid. Replacement DE Grid Package for Hayward and Pentair 36 Sq. ![]() ![]() The replacements I see for sale do not appear to have this pressure relief valve (they only have the actual manual air relief valve).Ĭan anyone let me know if this replacement will work or any issues it would cause?Īre there other replacements I should be looking at?Īlso it's model number looks more like its for a DE2420 but will this actually fit the DE3620?Īttached is a picture of the current filter top and where it is leaking from.Alternate Part #'s FC-9530, FS2003, PFS1836, PL0187, APCFS2003, PL0181 Product Description The one currently on the filter has what appears to be some sort of pressure relief valve inside the top which is where the water is leaking from along with a small screw type manual air relief. I started researching and see that it is replaceable for a decent price however there is a difference in the one that is currently on the filter and the ones that I see for sale. Whenever there is any kind of pressure built up from filtering it starts leaking pretty badly from the top assembly where the manual air relief valve is (after a backwash it does not leak for a bit until the filters start clogging up again). My roommate has a old Hayward DE3620 pool filter (about 9 years old).
